Job Title: Intervention Tutor Intern

Location: Yaba, Lagos

Job Description

  • KLS is looking for individuals interested in teaching teenagers. The Tutor will be responsible for addressing the needs of students who require help to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside the school, in order to achieve their full potential and boost relationships with parents and students.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities would be as follows:

  • Develop strategies to improve student performance based on their individual learning styles
  • Ensure students are progressing on core academic skills
  • Ensure all students can participate and reach their full potential by planning and delivering lessons that are engaging, relevant, and well-structured.
  • Investigate how technology can assist students in their academic performance
  • Encourage student responsibility by handling conflicts and incidents in accordance with policy.
  • Monitor and track learner performance, and provide data and statistics as necessary, using student record information systems.
  • Motivate students to achieve more through their learning capacity
  • Ensure the welfare of your students and young advisees
  • Deliver lessons with good-quality learning materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in developing, reviewing, and evaluating the intervention curriculum.
  • Engage in personal and professional development as needed to maintain a practical understanding of service standards and curriculum areas.
  • Plan cooperatively with teammates, sharing knowledge, ideas and expertise.
  • Develop good relationships with families to promote student learning.
  • Present the company and its partners at various events and speak with students and families

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English or Maths (or relevant subjects)
  • 1 - 3 years work experience.
  • Are Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Internet.
  • A youth corp member who has recently completed his youth service or two months before completion.
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates that reside at Ikeja, Maryland, Yaba and Ojota.
