Afordonz Consulting - Our client is a leading engineering, procurement and contracting company specializing in the Fire and Security sectors in Nigeria, is currently seeking to engage the services of:
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Ikoyi
Responsibilities
- Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation.
- install and maintain extra low voltage systems: Fire Alarm (mainly), CCTV, Access Control)
- Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.
- Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
- Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
- Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.
- Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
- Adjust sensitivity of units, based on room structures and manufacturers' recommendations, using programming keypads.
- Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Provide customers with cost estimates for equipment installation.
- Prepare documents, such as invoices or warranties.
- Consult with clients to assess risks and to determine security requirements.
- Order replacement parts.
- Keep informed of new products and developments.
Experience
Candidates must have experience in the following:
- Fire alarm
- Configuring and installing central monitoring station
- CCTV in both Analog and IP.
- Access control experience helpful
- Applicant must have a minimum of OND/HND in related field.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3-5 years experience with at least 2 years experience in Fire Alarm
- Proficient in Autocad
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in Project Planning tools.
- Must be adept in the use of Internet and E-mail.
- Fluent in English
- Very good analytical thinking capabilities.
- Very good at solving complex problems.
- Very good leadership skills.
- Very good organizational skills.
