Job Title: Law Librarian
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Acquiring & arranging the Firm's information resources/library and restoring the filing system of official documents
- Manage the operations of the law library, including monitoring, allocating, organizing and disseminating legal resources
- Conduct in-depth research in wide range of areas including practice-specific areas of law, business intelligence, public records, and legislative history
- Build a dynamic collection of information resources based on the Firm's information needs
- Conduct periodic reviews of new and existing electronic resources with an eye toward improved service and research support
- Gather evidence to support decisions about the development of new services and products
- Perform various cataloging procedures for all types of library resources
- Perform topical research for the firm's e-bulletins and other media
- Produce competitive intelligence reports for the firm's business development efforts
- Assist with background research for media opportunities
- Provide legal reference services and government document reference services to staff & clients
- Assist with other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills
- Must possess B.Sc. or HND in Library and Information Science or equivalent
- Must have worked either in a library or that of any higher institution of learning with at least 2-3 years of experience
- Similar experience as a Law Librarian is an added advantage
- Familiarity with the Internet and its software applications
- Familiarity with personal computers & Microsoft Office
