Accounts Assistant at the Learning Place

The Learning Place (TLP) is a Montessori Preschool and Elementary school equipped with individualized and practical methods that focus on the development of the whole child. TLP is committed to maintaining and optimizing the principles of high educational standards and maintains a policy to employ qualified and professional staff at all levels.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Raise in voices for vendors, parents and students
• Receive payment, issue receipts and track payments
• Issue paid and unpaid lists to relevant departments timely
• Confirmation of students balances, including daily update of paid & unpaid reports.
• Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliation statements and other financial reports.
• Raises payment vouchers and initiate the bank payment procedure to suppliers/contractors
• Assist with salaries compilation preparation and dispatch of monthly payslips
• Computation of Monthly PAYE, Pension and other deductions.
• Preparing and raising weekly requisitions, disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash
• Maintain up-to-date insurance status for assets.
• Prepare necessary documentation for financial audits by external auditors and participate in audits interviews.
• Acts as an ambassador for TLP and positively represents the school at all times.
• Promotes professionalism and embody the values of the school.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a University Degree (or its equivalent), preferably in Finance, Business, Statistics or Mathematics major.
• Membership of a relevant professional organisation or at least the completion of a second level recognised professional accounting program such as ICAN, ACCA etc.
• Good working knowledge of accounting programs and softwares
• Integrity and a strong attention to detail.
