Job Title: Head, Financial Control

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Role Summary

• To ensures efficient financial management and control necessary to support business activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the budget and financial forecasts for the company and report variances
• Provide inputs on the funding and cash-flow implications of the group’s strategy, goals and plans
• Collaborate with other Heads of Department in the development of cost management measures.
• Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
• Analyse, monitor and report on accounting inconsistencies.
• Manage all accounting operations
• Examining financial records to check for accuracy
• Keeping up-to-date with financial policies, practices, and regulations
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and publish timely financial statements and reports
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Analyse and report foreign exchange risks and interest rate exposures
• Generate statutory financial reports and statements for the group
• Develop and advise on a robust and reliable financial reporting system for the Group
• Keep grasp on changes in financial regulations, legislation as well as changes in competition and market trends and advise supervisor and management.
• Formulate strategic, long-term business plans to minimize financial risk.
• Collaborate with internal Risk and Internal Audit department in conducting internal audits of our financial process
• Manage relationships with relevant regulatory / external bodies
• Liaise with external and internal auditors for the smooth performance of audit operations
• Manage and oversee tax payments and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Keep up-to-date with the industry’s current tax practices and policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline (Second Class Upper Division/ HND Upper Credit)
• Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent
• MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline is an advantage
• Minimum of 8 (Eight) years relevant experience, 5 of which must have been in a supervisory position of an organization.
• Experience of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS
• Financial management, accounting, analysis
• Financial Reporting
• Knowledge of Accounting policies and processes
• Knowledge of ERP Accounting application.

Salary
N700,000 to N800,000 / Month.
