Job Title: Project Land Surveyor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Cross section survey.
  • Individually Total Station (Leica, Sokkia, Topcon, South) & Modern Instrument (Digital Theodolite, Auto Level, Hand GPS) handling for Survey work and downloading & plotting the data.
  • Close Traverse Survey Work.
  • Road Alignment Work & Leveling Operation. Volume Calculation. Curve Setting.
  • PCC & RCC Work in Drainage and culverts.
  • Liaising with the client’s Surveyors.
  • Ensuring all survey guidance systems.
  • Survey monitoring and interpreting drawings.
  • Operations pertaining to marking, levelling.
  • Data accumulation, construction layout surveys, precision measurements of length, angle, elevation, area, and volume, as well as horizontal and vertical control surveys, and the analysis and utilization of data.
  • River Sand Search Measurements for Dredging.
  • Pre –Survey and Post Survey Measurements of dredged River sand.

Skill / Requirements

  • B.Sc / HND in Land Survey with a minimum of 2nd class upper or Upper Credit
  • COREN Registered
  • Minimum of 10 years’ knowledgeable and gained experience in roads or general civil engineering.
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word packages.
  • Ability to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Take a proactive approach to processing survey data in line with the company’s best practice.
  • Produce maps and plans in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, on time and within budget to maintain company standard.
  • Working in collaboration with the team, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordinance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients.
  • Be responsible in the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organizational policies and requirements.
  • Work independently on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work.
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, including meeting notes, expense claims and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates.
  • Support the team and business development by communicating ideas for improvement.
