Job Title: Principal Investments Analyst
Location: Nigeria
Job Specification
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of the optimization strategy for 2-3 existing portfolio companies
- Participate in the formulation and execution of the investment strategy for 2-3 new investment opportunities
- Serve as primary custodian of all projects & portfolio companies under his/her control, managing all internal/external resources engaged on such projects
- Supervise and guide the development of 1 to 2 analysts working within the division or on divisional projects
- Work closely with and report directly to senior associates, VPs, divisional head and the executive management team of CardinalStone on assigned projects and other strategic issues as may be required
- Work may require some amount of travel, mostly domestic travel to various company/project sites across Nigeria with some mix of international travel
Qualifications
- Minimum Second Class Upper Degree from a top tier university
- 2-3 years experience in a management consulting, investment banking or general management/strategy role requiring strong financial modelling, analytical reasoning and presentation skills required
- Interest in making a transition towards private equity or principal investing
- Experience in emerging markets, particularly Nigeria is a plus

- The candidate must be able to demonstrate sound competence in several of the following areas:
- Possesses a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to conduct research for investment activities & portfolio companies
- Ability to build financial models for investment activities & portfolio companies & prepare investment memoranda & presentations
- Excellent communication skills - able to succinctly express complex ideas (verbally and in writing)
- Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail and highly organized
