Scholarship for Master's Students at Covenant University

Covenant University Bioinformatics Research Group won the 2014 TWAS Research grant with the project titled: "Preclinical Evaluation of Novel Computational-aided Designed Compounds as Antimalarial Drug Candidates". This research grant provides support for full-time MSc students who will carry out their research under this project in Covenant University, Nigeria.

Applications are therefore requested from all qualified candidates for a postgraduate scholarship under this project.

Applicants may apply to any of the two postgraduate programmes in the Department of Biological Sciences but must be willing to carry out his/her research in the area as provided for by the research project:
  • M.Sc, Biochemistry
  • M.Sc, Microbiology
The scholarship will cover the following
  • Registration for MSc Programme
  • Full Tuition
  • Monthly stipend ($200/month)
In addition, successful applicants will have free access to facilities in our Phytochemistry and Molecular Biology Research Laboratories.

Conditions for Eligibility
  • Applicants should submit their applications on/before 10th February, 2015.
  • Late applications will be disqualified.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of a Second Class Lower division in Biochemistry or Microbiology or its equivalent from a recognized University (within or outside Nigeria).
  • Applicants should be willing to attend the programme on a full-time basis for 18 months
  • Applicants should be articulate, innovative and research minded, able to clearly present his/her work to a diverse audience in English.
  • Female applicants are encouraged to apply
  • Application is open to all Nationalities
