We have worked consistently with Key affected Populations, Women, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, adolescent young girls, Youths, stakeholders and General Populations in Delta State with evidence of successes through community health and awareness education, referrals, linkages for uptake of health care and support services and entrenchment of peaceful value.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Care and Treatment Officer

Location: Ughelli North, Delta

Reports to: The position reports to the Project Coordinator

Job Purpose

  • The incumbent will work with and support project team to enrol all newly identified KP HIV positive clients (their children, adolescents, mothers and family members) in care and on ART, and provide high quality HIV Care and treatment services along the care continuum as per the revised national guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment through ongoing patient clinical assessments and management, data reviews and reporting, and applying quality improvement approaches to close existing service quality gaps.
  • The incumbent will also be the project’s program liaison person in the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in day-to-day running of the HIV/AIDS clinics at SACHI ECEWS OSS including daily enrolment of all newly identified KP HIV positive adults, their children, adolescents and infants.
  • Provide technical support in creating and strengthening linkages and networks between SACHI ECEWS OSS and hotspot activities ensuring there is seamless implementation of activities leading to improved health outcomes at the OSS.
  • Work with project staffs or volunteers to strengthen targeted HIV eligibility screening at all OSS entry points and testing KPs eligible for the HIV test.
  • Daily review of all HTS services data tools both at the organization and from outreaches to track all new HIV positive clients in collaboration with hotspot linkages structures and ensure their enrolment into care and on ART to completion.
  • Support implementation of the Differentiated Service delivery models for HIV Care and treatment
  • Lead in routine assessment and identification of capacity building and service delivery needs for ensuring quality services across the continuum of the HIV response
  • Participate in capacity enhancement activities including organizing tailored site mentorships to address performance and quality gaps, in accordance with project weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
  • Participate in support supervision, mentoring and coaching activities using the Quality Improvement approach in line with the national quality improvement framework
  • Closely work with the OSS and SACHI project M&E teams to ensure that daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly results are reported as per project and donor reporting guidelines, including ensuring quality of HIV data
  • Ensure the Organization HIV/AIDS support for activities is well coordinated and demonstrate results towards set targets.
  • Providing technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working clinicians and SACHI ECEWS OSS-based site teams to implement care and treatment services especially in adult antiretroviral treatment.
  • Work with other project staffs to plan and implement quality improvement activities to improve HIV testing outputs, enrolment into care and on ART, clinical and laboratory services monitoring aimed at improved delivery of high quality HIV continuum of services for adult KPs, their children, adolescents and infants.
  • Support other project staffs in forecasting, quantifying and requisitioning adequate commodities to support the HIV care and treatment continuum including ARVs, HIV test kits, viral load kits and opportunistic infections (O. Is) management medicines.
  • Participate in activities under other program areas as will be assigned by the Project coordinator
  • Work with Strategic Information department to address identified challenges.
  • Submit timely accurate and professional program reports that meet donor requirements.
  • Adhering and abiding by the ethics and code of conduct of the Organization.
  • Carrying out any other duties/ assignments as directed by the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications, Experience and Desired Attributes

  • BSc / HND in related Field with experience in clinical services delivery
  • At least 2 years of experience in HIV prevention, care and treatment services
  • Must be an FSW
  • Having training on HIV prevention, care and treatment services
  • Additional training in HIV/AIDS clinical management
  • Knowledge in HIV/AIDS clinical management, including the current national guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment.
  • Willingness to work in rural settings.
  • Familiarity with PEPFAR electronic reporting platforms like NMRS and NDR.
  • Ability/capacity to develop and design TBHIV, care and treatment strategic plan.
  • High quality narrative report writing and understanding of project management principles.
  • KP Experience will be an added advantage.
  • Must be highly organized and capable of effective multi-tasking.
  • Good inter and intrapersonal communication skills.
  • Goal oriented with ability to work under pressure to meet organizational targets/goals.
