Role Summary/Purpose
  • Gas to Power (GTP) is a critical growth strategy for GE which is based on the ability to get natural gas to locations that need power.
  • The central GTP team will coordinate the GTP efforts across GE; building a strategy and local ground game with the region and business teams and working with development partners, gas suppliers and traders, and financial institutions to provide solutions for the opportunities across our regions.
Essential Responsibilities
  • The GTP Project Structuring Director will be the focal point of contact for global GTP project teams as far as project structuring is concerned.
  • He/she will also provide advisory regarding credit and underwriting issues, risk allocation, financing considerations and contractual negotiations.
  • He/she will drive deals to completion, ensure effective project prioritization and formalize relationships with key partners like operators, financial institutions, developers and gas infrastructure companies.
  • As a key leader in the GTP organization worldwide, he/she will ensure optimization of resources and keep close alignment with the EFS Global Markets organization.
  • Drive project prioritization assessing project feasibility and timing
  • Be the focal point of contact globally for expertise on project structuring
  • Originate new GTP prospects in conjunction with region and business teams
  • Oversee execution for a certain number of GTP projects ensuring optimal local resourcing and access to the best possible content based expertise
  • Leverage existing relationship network and forge new networks for the benefit of the global GTP effort; formalize partnerships into JV's where they make sense
  • Assist local teams in forming optimal consortium and counter party negotiations where needed
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • MBA
  • Significant experience as a leader, managing regional and strategic projects
  • Deep expertise in structuring and executing early stage gas generation projects
  • Results-oriented with ability to convert business requirements and goals into realistic project milestones
  • Effective networking skills and strong communication skills are a must
  • Business Judgment and Execution Knowledge should have, or be able to quickly develop, a thorough understanding of GE's key business segments to actively engage in helping identify and execute strategic initiatives
  • Leadership, Collaboration and Influencing - should be able to demonstrate a team approach to solving problems by consulting peers, as well as, using internal and external networks
  • Must be able to work within a global matrix organization and interact with executives at the most senior levels
  • Have "hands-on" approach and be prepared to generate actionable partnership ideas without significant direction
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
