A leading independent Upstream Oil & Gas Company in Nigeria with active operator-ship of prolific blocks, based on their current expansion and development programs, is recruiting experienced, intelligent and resourceful candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Community Relations Officer

Job Summary

• The ideal candidates will assist in the negotiation, supervision and implementation of development projects and programmes in company host communities as well as provide health and mutually beneficial relationship with relevant host and neighbouring communities.
• He must have round experience in community engagement, negotiation and issues management. Also, he must have worked in a similar role for at least eight (8) years in an Oil & Gas Industry of which at least eight (8) must be in an E&P company.

Job Description

• Provide conducive and enabling environment for operational effectiveness and safe execution of company projects in host and neighbouring communities.
• Hold targeted periodic meetings with the CLOS, Chiefs. Government Agencies and other relevant stakeholders on conflict management and resolutions.
• Monitor and implement Early Warning Systems and community surveillance system for proactive intervention.
• Timely secure FTOS from host communities and provide timely intervention as well as anti-conflict actions for seamless operations.
• Provide counsel and guidelines for appropriate actions and procedures.
• Supervise the implementation of the company projects and development programmes in the communities.
• Prepare community development plans and strategy.
• Monitor and ensure Community assisted projects are timely executed and within budget

Qualifications and Required Competencies

• HND / B.Sc / BA in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related discipline.
• A Master's Degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of eight (8) years in an Oil & Gas Industry of which at least five (5) must be in an E&P company.
• Also, he must have worked in a similar role for at least eight (8) years in an Oil & Gas Industry of which at least eight (8) must be in an E&P company.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and maintain a highly organized work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to unexpected and challenging circumstances.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage stress and meet critical deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Must be available to travel to any part of the Country at short notice.
• Must have ability to manage stress and meet critical deadlines, build and maintain strong relationships, as well as manage restive and agitated groups.
