Job Title: Senior Drilling Engineer

Job Summary

  • Candidate for this position is required to have good knowledge of well engineering, drilling and completions to provide support to company's operations from the initial design to delivery of a well to production.
  • He must be knowledgeable in drilling and completion practices.

Job Description

  • Responsible for monitoring day-to-day rig operations during drilling and completions operations, including deployment of effective solutions for operational continuity, equipment malfunctions and other onsite problems.
  • Liaise with project partners, such as geologists and drilling contractors etc, in order to keep up-to-date on all developments that may have an impact on drilling activities.
  • Prepare drilling budget needed for the operation and monitor actual drilling costs.
  • Review day-to-day operation, drilling campaigns, evaluate the procedure and technical approach for future.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinating field materials requirements with the Drilling Materials.
  • Prepare drilling programs, technical specifications for drilling equipment and services required for field development in collaboration with departments concerned.
  • Prepare End of Well report.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

  • B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering required, preferably in Drilling.
  • A Master's Degree in any of the relevant Engineering disciplines will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years' experience in offshore and onshore activities and various engineering work including at least 5 years of supervisory experience in drilling operations.
  • Knowledge of the procedures, tools and techniques used in well drilling projects is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of commonly used and relevant drilling / operations / production management software.
  • Proficient in using Landmark's software, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have knowledge to prepare work schedules and comprehensive drilling plans to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Must be familiar with statutory and regulatory requirements, with respect to health and safety and emergency procedures.
  • Must have ability to plan and lead projects and be able to work under pressure and in teams.
  • Must be capable to deliver quality, on budget and with speed.
