A leading Multinational Company with interest in Telecommunications, is recruiting highly competent and results driven individuals with proven track record in facilities management to fill the position below:

Job Title: Environment & Safety Manager

Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures.
• Monitor the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policy, procedures, and regulation.
• Manage the maintenance and effective operation of all Safety Equipment, Fire detection and suppression systems (FM200) in all switch buildings and ensure training of technical staff on FM200 system handling.
• Ensure effective operation and maintenance of Fire Hydrant systems across the organisation.
• Evaluate health and safety practice and procedures for risk assessment in line with legal guidelines. Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions.
• Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures for further incidents.
• Handle worker's compensation claims in the event of a workplace accident.
• Suggest solutions, improvements and prevention steps for safety issues.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 12 years cognate experience in health and safety.
• Certificate in Risk Management and Health / Safety Management would be added advantage.
• Knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines is required.
• Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
• Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.
• Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
