The Candlelight Foundation is a non-profit organisation that started in 2017. Starting out as a soup kitchen, The Candlelight has grown to include 4 main programs under her belt- Mae’s soup kitchen, the candlelight mobile soup kitchen, the street kids to school program and the candlelight vocational school.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Home Teacher

Location: Lagos

Overview

• The role shall have the responsibility for handling the educational improvement and assimilation of the kids.
• He/She shall have the sole responsibility of making sure that the kids are put in the know of what they are taught in school.

Job Responsibilities
The SKS After School Teacher will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Planning, preparing and implementing an approved working curriculum.
• Overseeing daily lesson plans and activities that focus on developing the kids' social and motor skills.
• Assisting the kids with assignments.
• Assessing the kids on their educational improvement.
• Creating monthly and quarterly progress reports monitoring the kids' growth.
• Preparing learning materials and equipment such as books, arts and crafts.
• Creating, suggesting and implementing disciplinary actions which must be agreed on with the foundation.

Requirements

• Must be able to resume at the agreed time (4 - 6 pm).
• Must be able to innovate working learning methods.
• Must be computer literate and must teach the kids to be one.
• Must not drink or smoke on duty.
