Women in ICT is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing technology education, leadership and businesses for women and young girls to rectify under-representation of women in policy-making, leadership and math-intensive field of science and technology. Our primary aim is to inspire, enable and support all women and young girls in all walks of life using ICT to give them a way for realizing their dreams, overcoming problems and exploring their potential for success. Women in ICT foundation empowers women through all aspects of life, at home, in education and at work as well as fosters an inclusive corporate environment for the advancement of gender equality.

Women in ICT Foundation is currently seeking for female volunteers to join our devoted team of excellence to developing new approaches and systems that will ensure that Women in ICT Foundation is at the forefront humanitarian needs. We pilot innovative approaches to reducing violence against women and girls and advancing women’s rights. Together we are leveraging knowledge, expertise and dollars to create a more just and equitable world. Women in ICT Foundation is a registered charity, supported by collaborative partners, other government and non-government funders, and many individual donors around the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Female Volunteers (Abuja Only)

Location: Wuse II, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Volunteer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in organizing and coordinating of events organized by Women in ICT Foundation and maintain constant communication with our donors and partners
• Lead in the preparation, delivery and on-going strengthening of volunteer training, individual and group debriefing.
• Contribute to the strengthening and development of Volunteer Management tools and participate actively in response to emergency situations.
• Facilitate regular information-sharing meetings so that volunteer records are accurate and the appropriate output figures are up to date.
• Promote excellence and best practices in volunteering within women in ICT Foundation to continuing building a reputation for excellence in volunteer recruitment and retention;
• Work collaboratively with the Communications team members to promote volunteer opportunities; Participate in relevant networks on behalf of Women in ICT Foundation;
• Represent Represents Women in ICT Foundation at conferences, events and other fora.
• Schedule and forecast planning for special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community.
• Be the public face of the organization

Qualifications

• University Degree or equivalent in a related field;
• Minimum of two years related work experience;
• In-depth knowledge and experience of international volunteering and/or relevant experience in adult education or human resource management;
• Strong training and facilitation skills;
• Previous experience selecting, recruiting and supporting volunteers;
• Familiarity with online and distance education and learning an asset;
• Commitment to women’s rights and experience in integrating a gender analysis;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
• Capacity to work collaboratively and in a team.
