We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Senegal

Job Purpose

  • Coordinate the activities of workers/sub-contractors on site to ensure that the assigned project are completed on time and according to clients’ specifications within.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mason, etc. and give them guidance when needed.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned form time to time.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree, B.Sc / HND Civil Engineering / Building Tech +COREN Cert. PMP / Prince 2 Certification

Experience

  • 12 years post-graduation experience in construction with 7 years in a supervisory role.
  • Active involvement in a leadership capacity within your professional network or professional body

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to oversee construction projects from beginning to end, manage the budget and estimate costs, determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed, keep track of inventory, tools and equipment.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
  • Strong ability to prepare reports regarding job status, resolve any problems that may arise, ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes, evaluate risks, train and mentor construction workers and construction laborers depending on the size of the project.
  • Experience obtaining appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites.
  • Able to plan construction operations and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly.
  • Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project.
  • Ability to conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Good ability to collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements.
  • Ability to set KPI and also manage the team’s performance
  • Ability to supervise and mentor Site Engineer, and other skilled staff.
  • Computer Literacy
  • MS Office, Excel and Word, AutoCAD or other design programs.
  • Applicants must be fluent in French.
