We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Communications Associate (REACH)

Location: Abuja
Department: Marketing and Communications
Reports to: Senior Manager, Client Operations

Purpose of the position

  • The Communications Associate who will be supporting The REACH Program, will assist with writing and communication projects and tasks within EHA Clinics. S/he will be responsible for planning and implementing communication strategies, ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital channels, overseeing the company's media promotion, and editing and proofreading communication materials and texts.
  • The goal of the REACH program is to improve access and utilization of quality healthcare through innovative interventions on both the demand and supply side, using a collaborative community approach that ultimately seeks to reduce inequity in healthcare access as well as poverty.

What you’ll do
The Communications Associate’s job responsibilities are predominantly to:

  • Develop targeted brand messaging to convey mission, vision, strategy, impact, and success, in keeping with the REACH Program’s guidelines and priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute the overall communications strategy (internally and externally) for REACH to highlight program achievements and effectively communicate progress in line with REACH’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage REACH’s social media channels and develop social media content for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Develop outreach materials including quarterly newsletters, banners, brochures, reports, and other forms of internal and external communications.
  • Support media outreach and track coverage.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive communications contact database.
  • Develop messaging and provide quality assurance related to informational content and product development including PPTs, fact sheets, case studies, success stories, brochures, profiles, and the preparation of talking points.
  • Research, best practices, and technical aspects of communications and community engagement.
  • Identify and resolve problematic account situations where appropriate, referring more complex problems to the supervisor
  • Manage all program marketing collaterals, including printed material, promotional giveaways, and office supplies, in keeping with REACH’s guidelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive communications contact database.
  • Develop messaging and provide quality assurance related to informational content and product development including PPTs, fact sheets, case studies, success stories, brochures, profiles, and the preparation of talking points.
  • Conduct interviews and capture quotes or stories as needed for reporting.
  • Produce status reports and keep track of schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  • Carry out other responsibilities that may be assigned.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training classes, and supervision.
  • Adhere to Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to EHA Clinics Code of Conduct as well as ethical standards of the field.

  • S/he is expected to continue to learn throughout their career at EHA Clinics through continuing professional development (CPD). The professional body relating to specialist areas will have information on the type of CPD to be carried out and how much should be completed each year.

Key Areas of Note:

  • Ensure continuing education, training and development is undertaken to meet clinical governance guidelines for Continuing Professional Development and a Personal Development Plan. 
  • Keep up to date with relevant medical research, technology, and evidence-based medical practice by attending continuing education courses and professional meetings, reading journals, etc.
  • Perform a variety of research and analysis tasks associated with the improvement of clinical care, medical diagnosis, and treatment where appropriate.

Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform this job:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master’s is a plus);
  • Completion of compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or exemption
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven post-NYSC-related experience in communications or marketing in the field of development or with NGO, or private sector;
  • Demonstrated ability to unpack and communicate complex concepts simply with a range of stakeholders and sectors.
  • Ability to travel to support fieldwork.
  • Experience in program and event management.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing communications plans, developing and implementing communications tools or systems, and developing content for social media platforms, and newsletters.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other basic graphic design software.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Asana task management tool is an advantage
  • Ability to facilitate digital and web-based technologies for professional purposes.

  • Mid-Point: 4,406,712.02
