Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (Media)
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
- Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
- Lead and managed the team responsible for media planning and execution
- Manage creative and research agencies to ensure delivery on marketing campaigns
- Must be able to handle professional media services as a media planner and media buyer.
- Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating conditions of the company.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
- Motivate and lead a high performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
- Responsible for measurement and evaluation of campaign impacts and effectiveness.
- Manage communication with the external agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience with at least three years in a senior management role in a media firm.
- Prior experience in media industry is mandatory.
- Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, writing skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- Well-organized and self-directed with "political savvy" and a team-player approach.
- Intelligent and articulate in relating to people at all levels of an organization with excellent communication skills.
- Trustworthy with willing to share information and to serve as a mentor.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contracts.
- Decisive with a "big picture" perspective as well as versed in systems.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics
