Job Title: General Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a nation-building General Manager, passionate about education, to oversee all staff, sales and marketing, budgets and operations of a reputable long established education publishing company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization across all departments.
  • Ensure that company sales projections and targets are achieved
  • Expected to achieve quarterly benchmark on profit and loss
  • Develop policies and processes that will drive the organization toward becoming the leading publishing firm in Nigeria.
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth.
  • Provide solutions to issues (profit and competitor threat) -Drive sales, maintain budgets and control expenses.
  • Ensure employees productivity and professional development. Improve operations and financial performance
  • Prepare regular reports for the board.

Experience and Skills

  • BSc / BA / B.Ed or relevant field, M.Sc / MBA is added advantage.
  • Must not be more than 50 years of age
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar organizational role with not less than 5 years experience in similar capacity.
  • Publishing industry FMCG and teaching profession.
  • Long established contacts in schools and educational institutions a bonus.
  • Planning and budgeting experience.
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (sales, accounting, finance, HR, operations etc.) Data led analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
