Multipro Consumer Products Limited is the largest company in Nigeria dealing in Sales, Haulage and Logistics. MCPL was founded in 1996 as a fully owned company of the Tolaram Group. The first product sold by MCPL in 1996 was Indomie and since then it has played a seminal role in making Indomie a household brand in Nigeria. MCPL over the years has grown adding 13 brands in various categories comprising of Noodle, Snacks, Milk, Cereal, Oil, Homecare and Personal Hygiene.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Nationwide

Job Objectives

  • Lead the commercial operation of a designated territory within a region.
  • Develop our direct and indirect sales channels by coming up with appropriate plans and measurement tools which will grow the company’s volume, raise its profitability and increase the market share of its brands.

Core Deliverables

  • Deliver the monthly and annual sales targets for the territory.
  • Achieve availability of products in wholesale and retail outlets that is at the same level as our main competitors.
  • Work with our dealers and retailers to activate our products at the point of sale.
  • Identify, create and execute opportunities with dealers/retailers to increase sell-in/sell-out.
  • Supervise, coach and train the team on the job to better sell and merchandize our products.

Other Job Functions:

  • Provide weekly/monthly sales forecasts for the assigned territory.
  • Drive the flawless execution of the sales plan for the territory as agreed with the ROM.
  • Oversee the execution and tracking of marketing activities in the territory.
  • Develop strong relationships and close collaboration with all dealers in the territory.
  • Monitor dealers’ turnover and stocks on a weekly basis and ensure that our SKUs are available and that the dealers reach their monthly targets.
  • Develop and execute action plans in case the dealer falls behind on his/her monthly target.
  • Identify and recruit new customers, both, in wholesale and retail.
  • Remit all cash collected on behalf of the dealer to the dealer without fail.
  • Raise orders and invoices; closely monitor cash collections, in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Stay close to the Logistics/Warehouse team to ensure that goods are delivered within 24 hours.
  • Ensure proper management and control of company assets (like sales vehicles assigned to dealers, chillers, POS materials, etc).
  • Track the disciplined execution of the ASMs’ work plan and of the SRs’ daily/weekly call plan (actual calls versus calls scheduled; productive calls versus actual calls made; outlets covered versus target.
  • Monitor that SRs perform daily reconciliation of dealer stocks sold through redistribution.
  • Coach and develop the Commercial team through appropriate coaching routines and training plans.
  • Monitor the team’s performance and provide feedback to them on a regular basis.
  • Work together with representatives from the community to enhance our reputation.
  • Work together with the Marketing team to execute and track activities in the territory, and come up with new ideas.
  • Monitor activities of beverage competitors (trade and consumer pricing, promo schemes, new products, etc.).
  • Identify and implement operational cost savings.
  • Propose strategies, budgets and goals for the Annual Business Plan of the territory

Requirements

  • Minimum of HND / B.Sc.
  • Minimum of 6 years in similar role; preferably in the beverage industry or similar Fast Moving Consumer Goods.
  • Territory Management Skills (customer/outlet mapping, call/route plan, volume planning, NND, Market Analysis).
  • Must be able to use smartphone and have good knowledge of sales applications.
  • Information tracking, analysis and preparing for presentation.
  • Good communication Skills and must be goal driven.
  • Strong customer focus and negotiating skills.
  • Strong sales analytics, monitoring and evaluation
  • Proficiency in information tracking, sales analytics, and power point presentation
  • Exerting professional influence for initiating action steps and execution of plans
  • Decision-making and demonstrating self-confidence.
