Job Title: Field Technician

Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • To provide field service support for monitoring/ installation / commissioning / troubleshooting of customer equipment offshore / onshore.
  • The role may require overseas travel on occasion to suit business and customer requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform corrosion/erosion monitoring works-scopes to technical ability
  • Carry out Non-intrusive acoustic sand monitoring services
  • System Commissioning
  • Perform data collection tasks using topside / subsea acquisition equipment and software.
  • Utilise other complementary technology or equipment with appropriate instruction or coaching.
  • Ensure all data collected is accurate, concise and correctly referenced for reproduction and reporting purpose
  • Responsible for daily workload of tasks
  • Availability and maintenance of equipment
  • Technical knowledge of equipment and deliverables
  • Making sound technical decisions onsite in collaboration with the team during mobilisation and normal operations.
  •  Produce work packs in-line with customer expectations

Education and/or Experience:

  • ND or HND in any of the Physical Sciences or Engineering disciplines
  • No previous job experience is required
  • Role requires Technician to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft office software.
  • Must be flexible, highly customer focused and able to work unsupervised on all client’s sites, working to client specific hours and shift patterns.
  • Proven team player with proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Experience in completing detailed reports and full understanding of systems, processes and fault finding.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, risk assessment, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Confident communicator with customers, contractors and fellow workers. Be an ambassador for the company at the front line.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work at height. Physically demanding role with the need to carry heavy equipment weighting up to 15kg. Physically able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, if required.

Work Environment:

  • Will be required to work in the Office and offshore, on occasion may be required to work overseas.
  • Health and Safety Focus: Performs work in a safe manner at all times and observes safety and security procedures; avoids shortcuts that increase health and safety risks to self or others; reports potentially unsafe conditions and potential hazards; encourages and supports others to be safe while at work.

Salary Range
N50,000 - N100,000 / month.
