We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Programme Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Summary

  • Selected candidate will be responsible for implementing the minimum measures for mainstreaming protection and accountability to Affected Population (AAP) as outlined by the Humanitarian Principles, the SPHERE Standards, Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines, IASC Commitments on Accountability to Affected People/ Populations (CAAPs).
  • The Programme Manager will technically be supervised and supported by the Nutrition Coordinator.

Description of Task

  • Lead the team in conducting Spot check by collection and analysis of information that can be used to assess the credibility and quality of the implemented targeting exercise conducted by the targeting committee and partner handling the exercise in terms of meeting the set objectives of selecting the most vulnerable households from the community.
  • Lead in the establishing and training Project Management Committees in all project locations in collaboration with other partners implementing other components.
  • Lead in the Conduct of training and/or awareness-raising for relevant stakeholders on mainstreaming protection and integrating gender and Accountability to Affected Population (AAP).
  • Lead in awareness-raising of the relevant stakeholders and the affected population on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
  • Lead in the conduct of protection, Gender Risk Assessments, including local participatory conflict risk analysis in project locations
  • Ensure that the team conduct regular community outreach initiatives as a means of collecting feedback, identifying knowledge gaps, providing feedback to the communities on the actions taken to address their complaints, providing information on entitlements and changes in modalities and engaging effectively with communities.
  • Lead in the collection of most significant change stories from the WFP beneficiaries regarding the Impact of the assistance on their lives.
  • Lead in the establishing and manage help and feedback desks at all distribution sites across all project locations and in all project components implemented by other cooperating partners and provide communities with real-time information about WFP assistance, connect families to services, and respond to concerns and feedback.
  • Participate in training and meetings on CFM and AAP and provide specific training to CFM personnel on how to identify, handle and record protection cases and all other sensitive complaints.

Coordination:

  • Develop lines of communication and close collaboration with the other protection-implementing stakeholders and contribute to a coordinated humanitarian response.
  • Liaise with logistics and procurement to ensure protection activities have the required resources in good time. Complete and keep records of the necessary reports.
  • Attend external meetings in coordination with the Nutrition coordinator.
  • Coordinate field activities with other IMC teams.
  • Attend internal and external protection-related meetings.

Reporting:

  • Produce gender and protection updates that will be included in field visit reports.
  • Organize and prepare regular protection analysis reports.
  • Contribute in biweekly/monthly reports, donor reports and proposals.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly plans and facilitation of community awareness sessions on basic and specialist protection services using approaches that promote gender equality.
  • Support and coordinate with M&E Officers and for surveys, post-distribution other monitoring activities.
  • Support country teams to ensure M&E processes engendered protection and ensure learning of protection issues are captured.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Security or Agriculture, Social Science, Economics, Social Works related discipline and at least three years of professional experience in food and cash assistance interventions. Experience in northeast Nigeria is an added advantage.
  • Fluency in speaking and understanding English, Kanuri and Hausa.

Required skills:

  • Experience in community mobilization and sensitization
  • Experience in food, cash and NFI distribution
  • Good computer skills especially Word and Excel, access. knowledge of other databases preferred.
  • Good human relations and diplomacy,
  • Possess a high analytical capacity.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Fluent in English, Hausa and Kanuri.
  • Capacity to work under stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to coordinate work across multiple departments.
  • Experience living in remote or isolated work stations, or insecure locations.
