Job Title: Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

Job Summary

• Our client is looking to hire a capable senior civil/structural Design engineer with an excellent track record in the construction industry.

Please note the following before applying:

• Excellent engineering design / drawing skills/core experience in construction
• Basic background in the construction field which means understanding the site jargons both in theory and practice.
• Planning and organization role: previous key responsibility must be in planning, organization, tracking and reporting.
• Good grasp of microsoft office is compulsory.
• Any type of project management training is compulsory.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivering of discipline project deliverables and interfaces where necessary.
• Overseeing all project stages from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs.
• Prepares Civil and Structural General Arrangement Drawings, Specifications, Material Take-off (Design Reports, and other relevant deliverables.
• Interface with Procurement Dept., Survey and Geomatics, and Projects & Construction sections for resolution of Civil and Structural Engineering concerns.
• Attending inter-disciplinary technical clarification and progress meetings when required
• Reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
• Carry out and perform detail engineering works: designs calculation, specification, drawings amongst other discipline require documentations.
• Study and assess drawings, plans, specifications and other documents relating to civil works.
• Responsible for design compliance with contractually defined standards and specifications.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: B.Sc./B.Eng. (Structures) with 10+ years’ experience in an Engineering Organization in a similar design position.
• Certification: Registration as a Professional Engineer is highly desirable.
• Ability to efficiently use the following Civil and Structural Engineering design and detailing software is a MUST (AutoCAD, STAADPro, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Structures, Tekla Tedds)
• Demonstrable knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (British Standards, Eurocodes, API, etc.).
• Should Possess Good Communication Skill.
• Must be computer literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
