The Hiring Department

  • The Nigeria Country Department (RDNG) has been established with a mandate similar to the Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Directorates, to oversee the Bank's operations in Nigeria.
  • RDNG is responsible for delivery of the Bank's policy dialogue, operations, business development and donor coordination in Nigeria.

The Position

  • Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Director General for the Nigeria Country Department (RDG) the Team Assistant will provide general administrative and secretarial support in the Front Office of the Director General.

Key Functions
The main responsibilities of the Team Assistant will be:

  • Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents.
  • Assist in Communications, and business process improvement.
  • Follow up on progress of key strategic initiatives in support of the Front Office of the Director General.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.
  • Provide competitive assessments, strategic and gap analyses to support initiatives of the Office of the DG.
  • Track the delivery of assignments and directives to staff by the Director General.
  • Other day to day duties include:
  • Performing scheduling tasks such as confirmation of appointments, meeting set-ups, whilst keeping staff on track with reminders and alerts for upcoming meetings or events.
  • Organizing and distributing memos, letters, and other written communications, and ensuring that documents presented for Director General's signature are complete, with necessary attachments and background documents.
  • Receiving visitors and responding to telephone and electronic communications with tact and discretion, sorting, and prioritizing (e)mails.
  • Liaising with team members to effectively organize meetings, collate and circulate agendas. Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.

Competencies (Skills, Experience and Knowledge)

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Secretarial Administration, Finance, Public Administration and or related fields.
  • Have a minimum of four (4) years professional experience in Administration and Front Office management.
  • Experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, and emails, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to observe business etiquette with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal collaboration and communication skills, appropriately tailored for a variety of audiences (levels, functions, backgrounds).
  • Demonstrated self-sufficiency, creative problem solving, and ability to execute in a results-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion on institutional matters
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and respond to immediate requests in real-time.
  • Flexibility to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and a constructive and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard equipment (computer, fax, scanner, photocopies, etc.).
