Job Title: Fleet Management Officer

Responsibilities
  • Fleet Management Officer will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles.
  • He will maintain a record of all fleet details, including vehicle particulars/documents and maintenance records.
He will Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance plan to guard against avoidable expenses on vehicle repairs and maintenance Specifically, the Fleet Officer's responsibilities shall include:
  • Maintain a register of all Company drivers and their assignments.
  • Maintain an inventory system through recording of all expenditures of each vehicle, fuel purchase, repairs, supplies, etc.
  • Perform daily inspections and preventive checks on vehicles such as car fluids, lubrications, safety inspections, tyres, C-Caution etc.
  • Monitor user department by analysis of vehicle utilization and evaluation.
  • Reviews periodic repair procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of Fleet Budget to include a review of past year expenses.
  • Checks all repair works performed in automobile workshop for completeness. This includes physical inspections and road tests before vehicle is returned back to user.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy
  • condition at all times.
  • Streamline and monitor fuel purchase system with assistance of Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers ensuring all purchases are in line with Company policies.
  • Monitor parking and security of all company vehicles.
  • Supervise and ensure vehicles are cleaned daily (interior and exterior)
  • Ensure that each vehicle has a vehicle Log book maintained by each driver.
  • Keep record of vehicle repair and routine service; ensure vehicle are serviced as at when due.
  • Ensure all Company vehicle papers, permits and insurance are valid at all times and are in compliance with local and state laws and regulation.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' working experience in related roles
Competencies:
  • Proven experience in fleet and office administration;
  • Proven experience in delivering high level customer service in a fleet management environment;
  • Must be able to create preventative vehicle maintenance programs and evaluation schedules.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Proficient in MS office particularly data entry, excel
  • Very good organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
