Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Abraka, Delta

Duties

• The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and the Head of the University Library and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and co-ordination of all Library services in the University and its Campuses, Colleges, Faculties, Departments, Institutions and other Teaching or Research Units.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidate for the position of the University Librarian must possess a Doctorate Degree in Library Science from a recognized University and membership of relevant professional bodies plus at least Twenty one (21) years post qualification experience with adequate publications in reputable National and International Journals.
• He/she must possess adequate leadership experiences as well as high degree of competence, integrity and dependability with demonstrable transparency in private and public life.
• He or she must be Computer Literate and must not be below the rank of Deputy Librarian in a recognized University.

Age:

• The candidate for the position must not be more than sixty (60) years of age at the time of assumption of office.

Conditions of Service and Salary Scale
The appointment shall be for a single tenure of five (5) years on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment and on salary scale of CONUASS 7.
