Job Description
- The Business Continuity and Resilience Officer will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the organization's business continuity and resilience plans and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of business continuity and resilience plans, procedures, and policies to ensure the organization can respond to disruptions effectively.
- Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses to identify potential risks and the impact on the organization's operations.
- Coordinate and participate in business continuity and resilience exercises, including tabletop exercises and simulations, to test the effectiveness of the organization's plans.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of partnerships with external organizations, such as government agencies and vendors, to support business continuity and resilience efforts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on business continuity and resilience performance and progress to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Assist in the management of a team of business continuity and resilience professionals, providing support as needed.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training and awareness programs on business continuity and resilience to staff.
- Participate in incident response and crisis management activities as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Educational Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in business continuity and resilience planning and management, ideally from a complex environment.
- Experience in supporting business continuity and resilience exercises and simulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Knowledge of business continuity and resilience practices and principles.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of operational risk management, including risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
