Job Description

• The Head, Investment Operations provides a consolidation point for all investment outreach and operation in the institution.
• The position holder will be responsible for managing investment operations resources and provide reporting on performance of the organization’s investment programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all investment operations functions, including trade settlement, investment accounting, performance reporting, and risk management.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Manage relationships with external service providers, including custodians, brokers, and vendors.
• Lead the implementation of new investment systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency and enhance investment capabilities.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of investment performance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of investment operations.
• Collaborate with the portfolio management team to ensure that investment strategies are executed efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers, risk managers, and compliance officers.
• Participate in industry conferences and events to stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in investment operations.
• Manage and develop a team of investment operations professionals

Educational Qualifications, Experience, and Attributed Skills

• Advanced Degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics Management, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in Investment management including direct experience managing Investment Analysts and Managers.
• An In-depth knowledge of the financial details like accounts, analysis of financial statements, securities and stock market working and investment strategies.
• Excellent knowledge of computer applications for analysis of data and preparation of investment plans using the latest technology.
• Ability to spot errors and to work with extreme precision.
• Creativity and the ability to think out of the box to formulate innovative strategies.
• Exceptional planning, analytical and execution skills.
• Excellent communication and motivation skills.
• A detailed understanding of the principles and frameworks behind successful operational asset management in a fast-paced investment environment, including quality planning, project/milestone planning, risk management, dependency management, and reporting.
• Proficient use of Microsoft office.
