Job Title: Designated Person Ashore Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

• Directly responsible for the effective management of operations aboard a maritime vessel.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining a proper safety culture on a maritime vessel. Also, the implementation and the development of the company's safety management system.
• Verifies and monitors all safety and pollution prevention activities on the ship.
• Good knowledge and understanding of International Safety Management Code (ISM), mandatory rules and regulations, applicable codes, guidelines and standards.
• Reporting and analysis of non-conformities, accidents and hazardous occurrences on the vessel.
• He must also serve as a link between the company and those on works on the vessel.
• Ensure that proper provision is made for each ship to be so manned, equipped and maintained that it is fit to operate in accordance with the safety management system and with statutory requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

• First Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or relevant field.
• 3-5 years of experience in ship management
• Good knowledge and understanding of ISM Code, mandatory rules and regulations.
• Good communication and people management skills
• Highly skilled in safety management
• Excellent Negotiation skills

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
