Job Title: Accountant

Location: Asaba, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The role of the Accountant is to oversee the Company’s Accounts and Sales department, developing financial strategies, making investment decisions, helping Company leadership with strategic planning, and making sure the Company complies with State and Federal financial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Accounting and Sales transactions of the Company.
  • Ensure that all the Company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and all other financial transactions.
  • Prepare official business reports on a monthly and annual basis (Accounts and Tax Returns).
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and external Accountants/Auditors.
  • Oversee companywide budget preparation across departments and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to Executive Management.
  • Train, supervise and coordinate with the entire Accounts and Sales team to complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Company’s financial policies and procedures.
  • Filing tax returns (PAYE and Company Tax).
  • Assisting Management in the financial decision-making process by preparing budgets and making financial forecasts.

Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • ICAN certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a similar role particularly in the Food industry.
  • High standards of business ethics and professional conduct.
  • Very good knowledge of accounting packages and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work autonomously.
  • Willing to relocate to Asaba, Delta State (where required).

Salary
N120,000 -  N150,000 monthly.
