An Oil and Gas servicing firm, whose head office is located in Port Harcourt Rivers State, is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lead Piping Design Engineer

Location: Lagos
Slots: 2 Openings

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the piping design team in the development of piping systems, including design and layout of piping, selection of piping materials, and development of isometric drawings.
  • Ensure designs follow industry standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Review project scope, specifications, and client requirements to develop piping design concepts.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide guidance to the piping design team to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams during the construction and start-up phases of the project.
  • Identify and mitigate piping design risks and issues.
  • Maintain project documentation, including design calculations, design reports, and drawings.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior piping design engineers.

Job Profile
Minimum Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in piping design for industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and API 650.
  • Proficient in 3D piping design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Smart Plant 3D, or Bentley Open Plant.
  • Ability to lead a team of piping designers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation is an asset.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of oil field engineering and construction methods including its practice and procedures.
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations, and practices applicable to the design and construction of onshore and offshore structures/production facilities
  • Time management skills.
  • Critical Thinking-Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
