Novella Africa Limited - Our client, a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• Develop processes and procedures to achieve the Bank’s financial and operational strategies, ensure metrics tie to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities
Strategy, Planning and Budgeting:

• Drive the entire budgeting process from the Bank’s Budgets setting to individual Staff KPIs and budget
• Assist in formulating the company's corporate goals and supporting strategic initiatives
• Monitor and direct the implementation of corporate goals
• Budgetary Controls. Monitor performance against budget, ensure compliance with Operating and Capital Expenditure Budget, provide recommendations to meet/excess set budget

Performance Management:

• Ensure alignment of the performance measures and reports with the corporate goals
• Develop performance recognition, improvement, reward and intervention schemes to drive business performance
• Provide timely and insightful business analytics to Executive Management.

Management Reporting:

• Manage the entire Management Reporting process of the Bank
• Monitor and ensure compliance with Prudential Ratios.

Financial Reporting:

• Ensure that the Bank’s Financial Statement are in line with regulatory requirement, relevant reporting standards (IFRS) and best practices

Others:

• Work closely with all departments on projects and initiatives to meet the Bank’s Corporate Goals
• Provide leadership and build capacity within the Finance department

Requirements

• M.Sc / MBA in Finance, Accounting, or any numeric discipline
• Professional certification ACA / ACCA is a must
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting and analytics
• Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
• Ability to meet and establish deadlines Good interpersonal Skills
• Ability to build capacity of team members
• Experience in digital transformation.
