Major Accountabilities of Position
- Functions as Discipline Project Supervising Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group
- Plans, directs, and supervises the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring large-scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
- Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process; Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract
- Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities
- Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
- Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies; Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses; Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
- May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties; Recommends and prepares technical papers.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate in addition to the above tasks
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Job Specific Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of the latest applicable engineering codes and standards, design practices and design quality standards.
- Perform Power System Analysis.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams.
- Prepare Hazardous Area classification. Develop Electrical Load Schedule. Review Vendor documentation.
- Attend technical meetings
Industry Specific Experience:
- 5 years industry specific experience. FPSO and Subsea engineering experience will be added advantage.
HSE Capability:
- Commitment to safe working practices and ability to promote safety consciousness within the department
IT Skills:
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of ETAP or SKM Power Tool software.
People Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop effective business relationships, good communication skills, team management and development skills, collaborative leadership style, coaching and facilitation skills, interdepartmental team relationships
Other Relevant Information:
- Limited travel required
- Work require liaising with other disciplines to develop design
