Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description

• Evaluate financial information and summarize financial status.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
• Oversee month end financial activities. Assign and enforce deadlines for all stages of the closing process. Assist and contribute to the yearend closure process.
• Supervise the delivery of internal and external audit.
• Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Creating, documenting and interpreting financial data, records and statements.
• Creating and monitoring of budgets, projections, and forecasts.
• Managing the accurate disbursement of funds and cost control.
• Reviewing company’s financial records, reports, and other accounting information to check for accuracy and ensure details align with the company’s goals and procedures.
• Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Carrying out internal audits, identifying and reconciliation of financial discrepancies.
• Maintaining financial security through internal controls.
• Management of vendor payments and documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory financial requirements.
• Providing financial reports, advice and recommendation to management based on thorough analysis of the financial records.
• Keeping the online accounting platforms updated at all times.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, or a Finance related discipline.
• 5 - 7 years’ work experience in a similar role.
• Experience with accounting tools like, Zoho Books etc.
• Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS requirements and accounting principles.
• Experience working with spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• He must be resident in Port Harcourt and must not be more than 45 years.
