The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Since its creation in 1863, the ICRC's sole objective has been to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and strife. It does so through its direct action around the world, as well as by encouraging the development of international humanitarian law (IHL) and promoting respect for it by governments and all weapon bearers. Its story is about the development of humanitarian action, the Geneva Conventions and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC Office in Yola is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacant position below:

Job Title: Field Officer (RFL)

Location:
Yola

Main Responsibilities
  • Actively contributes to the Implementation of ICRC activities in the domain of Re-establishment of Family Links (RFL) between family members who have been separated because of the situation in the North East of Nigeria.
  • The candidate will have to travel in the North East (mainly Adamawa and Gombe States) in order to implement RFL activities, observing lCRC security rules.
  • Contributes to the assessment of the needs in this domain.
  • Offers help and services to people who have lost track with their family.
  • Ensures effective filing, timely reporting and provides detailed and accurate statistics,
  • Maintains regular contacts with various entities working in this field.
  • Translates and interprets from Hausa to English, and vice versa, when required
Minimum required Knowledge & Experience
  • High School or Professional School qualification and previous work experience
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Hausa.
  • Good computer skills
  • Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
  • Good reporting and analytical skills
