The U.S. Consulate in Lagos is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of:

Job Title: Procurement Assistant


Position Grade:FSN-06/FP–08
Work Hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week
Location: Lagos

Basic Function of the Position

The incumbent is the primary provider of procurement Services below the Micro-Purchase Threshold and provides administrative support to the Contracting and Procurement Office. S/he prepares the ICASS workload counts by running queries in ILMS Ariba and analyzing the data for input into the cost matrix. This position is responsible for all time and attendance for the contracting and procurement section.

Position Requirements
Note:

  • At least two (2) years of full-time college/university studies in Business Administration, Secretarial Studies, Social Sciences or Arts is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related office experience is required.
  • Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English is required. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Knowledge of the hierarchy and inner working of an office structure and local market practice and supplies, as well as, pricing practices is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets and Power Point with ability to operate office equipment such as copier and scanner is required.
Selection Process
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

Additional Selection Criteria
  • Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
  • Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
  • Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
  • Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.

In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.
Nor - Not Ordinarily Resident - AEFM - US$36,353 EFM/MOH - US$31,301 (Starting Salary) p.a. Position Grade: FP-08
