The Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainable Development (INRES) is a MacArthur Foundation funded multidisciplinary centre of excellence for education/training and research in the management of natural resources, environment and sustainable development. The MSc programme is run in partnership with the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, three Nigerian Universities and two centres from both public and private sectors.

Various professional environmental organisations in industry, government and civil society have made input on the course content to ensure relevance and strong linkage to the needs of the natural resources and environmental management sector.

Aim/Objectives
The main aim is to produce competent manpower capable of developing and implementing integrated, multidisciplinary and sustainable solutions to developmental, environmental and natural resources management challenges. Admission Requirements
Admission is open to first degree graduates in science, social science, engineering, management, health sciences and related disciplines who possess minimum of second class lower degree (CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale and 2.00 on a 4-point scale). Applicants will be subjected to a written test and competitive oral interview.

Mode of Study and Programme Duration
The duration of the programme for fulltime students is 12 calendar months (no disruption by strike actions), consisting of nine months of lecture and three months for research project. Copied from: hotnigerianjobs.com--

Programme Structure and Award of Degree
The structure of the programme comprises 20 modules subdivided into three sets of courses - compulsory, fundamental knowledge and electives. To qualified for the award of the MSc degree,a student is required to pass a total of 12 modules, consisting of four compulsory courses, five fundamental courses, three elective courses and a research project.

Career Opportunities
Career opportunities exist for graduates of the programme in environment and natural resources related ministries, agencies and departments of government and private sector.

Complete forms on-line after payment of  a non-refundable application fee of Fifteen thousand naira (N15,000.00) in certified bank draft made payable to the Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainable Development.
