Job Title: Poultry Farm Manager

Location: Ashipa, Abeokuta Road, Ogun

Job Brief

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to oversee our modern poultry farm with over 500,000 poultry birds, including layers, broilers, chicks, growers, and other breeds.
  • As the Poultry Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the farm operations, ensuring optimal productivity, animal welfare, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the farm operations, including the care and welfare of the poultry birds, feeding, breeding, and vaccination schedules, egg collection, and overall maintenance of the poultry houses.
  • Plan and execute the farm's production strategy, ensuring that the farm meets the production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage and control the farm's budget, including operational costs, feed expenses, labor costs, and other expenses.
  • Monitor and maintain the farm's inventory of feed, medication, and other supplies, ensuring adequate supply levels are maintained.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff, ensuring that they are competent, efficient, and safety conscious.
  • Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases and protect the health and welfare of the poultry birds.
  • Conduct regular farm inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a poultry farm with at least 400,000 poultry birds, including layers, broilers, chicks, and growers.
  • Proven track record in farm management, including planning, budgeting, production, and staff management.
  • Strong knowledge of animal health, welfare, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Experience in administering drugs, vaccines, and other medications to poultry birds.
