Women for Women International is an International non-governmental organization whose mandate includes providing women survivors of wars, civil strife and other conflicts resources for survival, reduce poverty level and ensure their self-sufficiency. The organization, with headquarters in Washington DC, USA, has country offices in eight countries, including Nigeria. We implement a 12-months training and education program designed to improve key social and economic outcomes for the most socially excluded women. The program targets every aspect of women’s lives; health and wellbeing (including nutrition, hygiene & HIV/AIDS prevention and protection), economic stability, family decision making and social safety nets.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Data Collector (Enumerator)

Locations: Cross Rivers, Kaduna and Plateau

Purpose

  • Working as part of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) unit in the country office, assist in collecting and analyzing data and information from the program participants in the designated state at designated periods throughout the program cycle, according to the WfWi established M&E guidelines and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Program Monitoring Evaluation:

  • Participate in community assessment, pre-selection of new participants, and collect and record information as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all forms and other information required using an electronic data collection tool.
  • Enroll women in the program and submit reports of specific observations about processes while highlighting errors to be corrected in subsequent enrollments.
  • Interpret interview questions to assist respondents in understanding them and providing eloquent answers.
  • Participate in planning and conducting quantitative and qualitative research (focus group discussions and in-depth interviews) when necessary.
  • Transcribe Focus Group Discussion and in-depth interview data when necessary.
  • Complete endline forms for all participants at the end of their program cycle and submit reports on each evaluated group of women.
  • Work closely with the Social Empowerment and the Economic Empowerment team to capture all relevant data and information from program participants
  • Participate in debrief sessions to share field experiences about the community and the entire data collection process.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems online or hard copies of records and reports (community assessment reports, participants contacts, Focus Group Discussion reports, etc.).

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or any other related discipline.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably in data collection.
  • An understanding of the key concepts and principles of monitoring and evaluation, including data collection and analysis, indicators, and reporting.
  • The ability to analyze data and interpret findings
  • Good oral and written communication skills to convey information effectively and build rapport with communities and participants.
  • Computer literacy is required. Proficiency in using software applications, such as Microsoft Office and statistical packages, to analyze and present data.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy in all aspects of monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve project goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Excellent interactive and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English, Pidgin English and local languages spoken in the project area is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and spend significant time in the field.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
