Job Title: Health Safety Environment Coordinator

Location: Lagos

About the Job

• We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health Safety Social & Environmental (HSSE) Associate to join our team!
• You will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Health, Safety, Social, and Environment (HSSE) program across our project sites and operations in Nigeria.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSSE standards and identify areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safe work procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops on HSSE-related topics for employees and contractors to increase awareness and promote a culture of safety.
• Participate in incident investigations and support the development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain and update HSSE-related records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with HSSE-related requirements, such as safe work procedures, emergency response plans and hazard communication programs.
• Ensure that all necessary HSSE permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in OSH, Environmental Science or a relevant field.
• NEBOSH IGC certification.
• At least 4 years’ experience in a HSSE role in an energy production company.
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards such as OSHA Act and NEMSA Safety protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible to travel to various project sites.
