We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) before the start of daily production.
  • Ensure that all the machine interlock are functioning before starting the operation.
  • Ensure machines are running with the correct parameters in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, weight, height, coding, perforation and sealing integrity, pressure, and temperature etc.) as per required standard.
  • Check outputs at regular intervals from the machine to spot any machine related mistakes or flaws to reduce waste and ensure product meets standard requirement.
  • Ensure the hourly monitoring of the production output.
  • Ensure 5S is maintained at the beginning, during and close of production.
  • Ensure maximum uptime of all machines.
  • Ensure that the SOP for machine cleaning is strictly followed during and after the operation.
  • Always ensure strict compliance to all safety, health, and environment rules.
  • Maintain good GMP/GHP in the Workplace.
  • Always ensure the right PPEs are worn and used during operation.
  • Ensure that the CIP check list is updated and signed daily.
  • Ensure all records are properly kept and updated during and after operation.
  • Control and report raw material usage and output of the machine and ensure all the records are properly updated.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Ensure all stops are recorded on the downtime forms and fixed as they occur.
  • Oversee and ensure routine cleaning of all machines and metal detection. equipment and documentation of this activity.
  • Test operation of machines in terms of standardization and calibration periodically in conjunction with the maintenance team and technical supervisors.
  • Prompt report of all machine defects to engineering for necessary repairs/replacement.

Requirements

  • HND / OND, NABTEB or Trade Test
  • Proven experience as machine operator, manufacturing experience and knowledge of current FSMS & ISO standards are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery including any one or more of filling, cutting, monodose, teagarden packaging, pressing & wrapping granulating, boules, blending etc. machines and measurement tools.
  • Graduate with any technical degree.
  • Prior experience as a machine operator.
  • Strong knowledge of a heavy duty and high-speed machinery.
  • Strong ability to use measurement tools.
  • Good understanding of production procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations.
  • Age not more than 35 years of age.
