MBIS International, a reputable Nursery and Primary education, is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:

Job Title: Female Nursery Teaching Assistant

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Part-time

Job Brief

  • You will work in our Early Years, providing care to young children; under the supervision of more experienced Nursery Workers to create a safe and supportive environment for children to develop their social and educational skills.
  • Much of your work will involve working directly with children in group activities such as completing craft projects, communication and language skills development, literacy and early mathematics.

Some of your duties will include the following:

  • Planning and supervising fun educational activities
  • Managing a daily schedule that includes activities, toilet breaks, lunch, indoor and outdoor programs
  • Creating theme related, age appropriate classroom displays
  • Communicating with parents and staff members
  • Ensuring the safety of children
  • Helping children learn mathematics and language through daily activities.

Requirements
For your application to be successful, you MUST meet the following requirements, skills, and qualifications:

  • Must be resident in Ibadan and be able to commute easily to Jericho, Ibadan
  • Minimum Qualification required is a Degree - B.Ed/BA/PGDE, gained from a reputable Institution plus a Diploma/Certificate in Montessori Education
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience of working with children aged 2- 5 in a paid capacity as a Teaching Assistant within an Early Years setting
  • Flexibility, openness to change and caring/nurturing attitude towards children
  • Ability to relate exceptionally well with children and adults
  • Have knowledge of relevant school policies and teaching codes of practice
  • Have ability to enthusiastically and loyally promote the school’s vision through behaviour, words and actions
  • Enthusiasm for work with children and passion for promoting purposeful learning
  • Ability to build good rapport with children, parents, staff and other professionals
  • Understanding of health and safety and welfare issues within a school environment
  • Excellent organisational and record keeping skills
  • Must have excellent English Language skills (clear written, reading and spoken)
  • Very good literacy and early Mathematics teaching skills
  • Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts are a MUST
  • Must have effective classroom management and teaching skills as well as evidence of such
  • Exceptional IT skills including the following: internet, e-mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
  • Professionally presented, self-confident and smartly dressed at all times.
