Job Description
  • The Internal Control Personnel is responsible for providing effective support to the Logistics of procurement, distribution and transport of materials by ensuring compliance with the project's Quality Standard Operating Procedures and related Operational policies.
Responsibilities
The specific duties include but are not limited to the following tasks:
  • Liaise with the Admin. Assistant to identify service providers;
  • Ensure contract price and prices of purchased items are reasonable
  • Prepare RFQs for distribution to service providers;
  • Draft selection memos to determine suitable service providers;
  • Develop an internal control testing methodology
  • Filing procurement related documents according to provided procurement guidelines;
  • Prepare and keep records of LPOs;
  • Ensure support due diligence and procurement to the regional offices for procurement related requests;
  • Track vendor payments in liaison with Accounts unit;
  • Request for invoices after job completion and following up on Job completion certificates;
  • Retire expenses incurred;
  • Regularly update procurement unit's vendor data base;
  • Assist with procurement requests from regional offices (Lagos, Kano, Enugu and Niger delta);
  • Regularly evaluate procurement policies and make suggestions for improvement where needed;
  • Location of Assignment: This position will be based in Lagos;
Reporting Requirements:
  • The Position shall report to the Senior Operations Manager;
Qualifications, Experience and General Competencies
  • Must Possess a minimum of OND in Disciplines related to: Management Science, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Accountancy;
  • Superior analytical reasoning and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills - able to succinctly express complex ideas (verbally and in writing);
  • Entry level (OND/HND) / Fresh Graduate (1st Degree) is Required;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Attention to detail and highly organized;
  • Efficient and goal oriented.
