GlaxoSmithKline: Medical Advisor
The Role
  • Ensure appropriate and efficient identification and involvement of Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Encourage the active participation of Key Opinion Leaders and participate in scienctific training of cross functional teams.
  • Provide input and participate in cross functional initiatives which are key drivers for the business.
  • Identify and develop key thought leaders dor medical education and clinical research opportunities.
  • Deliver quality medical education presentation in a variety of settings and to obtai valuable feedback that can be disseminated throughtout the organization.
  • Act in compliance with Company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and applicable Codes of Practice of the Pharma ceutical Industry.
  • Support strategic medical / scientific input to commercial activities of the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare divisions including pre-launch, launch and life-cycle management initiatives.

The Person
The Ideal candidate must have a very good degree in Medicine (MBBS, MBBCh) from reputable Universities, a minimum of 8 years post NYSC. Post graduate qualification(s) and relevant clinical and research experience are also required. Previous experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry will be an added advantage.

The Candidate must possess:
    - Strong leadership skills
    - Conceptual thinking, able to identify opportunities and solve problems through lateral thinking.
    - A good knowledge of local legislation.
    - IT Literacy.

Critical Success Factors Include The Ability To:
    - Make independent assessments and decisions using facts & data
    - Work in matrix team
    - Develop and carry out technical reviews of local and trial proocols.
    - Effectively communicate.
    - Candidates must be ready to travel as the business requires.
