Job Summary

  • We are seeking experienced Chef de Cuisine/Line Cooks specializing in both Continental and Nigerian cuisine to join our high-end club and restaurant.
  • As a Chef de Cuisine/Line Cook, you will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, including continental dishes, local Nigerian dishes, bakery items, and more.
  • Your role will involve creating and executing menus, ensuring high-quality food production, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, and collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, including continental and Nigerian cuisine, bakery items, and more
  • Develop and execute menus based on customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and culinary trends
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation are consistently maintained
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely food service
  • Manage inventory, monitor food supplies, and place orders as necessary
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
  • Keep up-to-date with culinary trends and techniques

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine/Line Cook with a focus on Continental and Nigerian cuisine
  • Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end club, hotel, or restaurant
  • Solid knowledge and experience in preparing both Continental and Nigerian dishes
  • Proficiency in bakery items and snack preparation
  • Strong understanding of flavor profiles and ability to create well-balanced dishes
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity and passion for culinary arts
  • Relevant culinary certifications or qualifications are a plus (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related fields
  • National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts
  • Additional certifications from recognized culinary associations, such as the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) or the Nigerian Association of Chefs and Cooks (NACC).
