HipCity Innovation Centre is a registered non-profit organization in Nigeria in the thematic areas of good governance and democratic processes, access to water and other sustainable social programs.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support in documenting lessons learnt and best practices of all HipCity’s ongoing project
  • Support the project Director in designing of new Project Implementation Plans.
  • Ensure the execution of the Project Implementation Plan is accurately carried out under the Project/Executive Director supervision
  • With support from other team members, will support to design a Monitoring plan and simple data collection tools to ensure monitoring and data collection of key project indicators
  • Will be responsible for the formation, strengthening and training of the Community structures.
  • Will play a key role in the mobilization and engagement of the community and stakeholders in the implementation and monitoring of the project
  • Review, assess and update all HipCity’s projects.
  • Highlight key project issues requiring a response
  • Regularly innovate on new project concepts and ideas
  • Engage with old and potential stakeholders (Donors. Government, Communities etc) to seek new opportunities.
  • Carryout regular research on topical issues around the organization’s thematic areas of interest and publish articles on internationally and national recognized news and knowledge platforms.
  • And any other task assigned on this role.

Position Requirements

  • B.Sc Degree / Diploma in any Humanities, Development Studies, Social Science or Sciences
  • 1 year experience working in similar role
  • NGO experience is a plus.
  • Basic computer skill (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and e-mail).
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work autonomously when required.
  • Good command spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of the local language is mandatory.
