Job Title: Assistant / Associate Professor, Information Systems

Location: Adamawa

Summary

• The post-holder will be required to instruct courses, both introductory and advanced levels, including advanced courses related to his or her area of expertise. The successful candidate must have a PhD in Information Systems and an established, or potential to establish record of excellence in teaching, research and service.
• Candidates should possess a strong record of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage

Job Description

• The successful candidates will teach courses in Information Systems at introductory and advanced levels.
• Conduct research and publish papers in rigorous peer-reviewed journals.
• Promote the department’s research and scholarly activities by presenting research findings in seminars and conferences.
• Supervise research projects, tutor and mentor students.
• Lead or be part of other committees aimed at promoting research, curriculum development, staff welfare etc.
• Contribute to AUN’s community service and development.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chair or the Dean.

Person Specification

• Hold a PhD Degree in Information Systems
• Have at least three years of work experience in higher education after obtaining a PhD – as a teacher and/or researcher
• Have a proven record of academic publications in good journals and/or reputable international conferences in computing.
• Prior teaching experience in a graduate or undergraduate program and corporate training is expected
• Ability and experience teaching across disciplines (e.g. Computer science, software engineering, Information systems.) is a plus.
• Industry experience is a MUST
• Experience in the American educational system is a plus.
