Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our educational institution in Lagos.
  • As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.
  • Your primary goal will be to provide a solid foundation for their future education and inspire a love for learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum that align with educational standards and promote children's overall development.
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and active participation.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that respects diversity and promotes social-emotional development.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child, recognizing and addressing their unique learning needs and abilities.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques, resources, and materials to engage children in active learning experiences.
  • Encourage creativity and critical thinking skills through the use of hands-on activities, imaginative play, and interactive learning.
  • Assess children's progress and development regularly through observation, documentation, and assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on their child's development, progress, and behavior.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to plan and coordinate special events, field trips, and parent involvement activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that is conducive to learning and meets health and safety standards.
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated on the latest early childhood education practices and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. A Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education will also be considered.
  • Proven experience working as a Preschool Teacher or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development principles, theories, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with curriculum frameworks and educational standards for preschool education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and execute lessons effectively.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes children's self-esteem and well-being.
  • Understanding of child behavior management techniques and positive discipline strategies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to preschool settings.
  • Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital tools for instructional purposes.
