We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization’s financial activities, including being responsible for the finance and accounting professionals who perform operational functions
  • Serve in a strategic advisory role for the CEO and C-suite peers.
  • Supervise in the preparation of timely financial statements
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information for management while recommending further courses of action
  • Develop trends and forecasts of the firm’s finances to feed the business budgetary process
  • Manage the preparation of the company's budget
  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plan and budget
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company (and subsidiaries) finances is maintained
  • Conduct financial risk management
  • Assist Management in the financial evaluation of potential investments
  • Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits is fit for purpose and comply with financial regulations
  • Monitor and keep management apprised of available funding options
  • Assist in determining the appropriate capital structure for the company and its subsidiaries
  • Maintain company’s relationship with financial partners, and arrange and negotiate financing as required
  • Accountable to both the organization and various regulatory entities and authorities.
  • Must be well-versed in both generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)and state and federal regulations, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Educational Qualification / Certification

  • A First Degree in a Science course is preferred, but not a deal-breaker.
  • Master’s Degree and any other certifications shall be an added advantage
  • Membership of Accounting Bodies like ICAN, ACCA, ANAN is required

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in Finance / Accounting, out of which, at least, 4 years must be in core finance and at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Past Management Consulting, Audit or Finance function experience at a manufacturing, power or energy company would be an added advantage.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools. (THIS IS A DEAL-BREAKER)
  • Advanced knowledge of Accounting Software
  • Strategic decision-making

Other Competencies:

  • Negotiation skills (in view of regular engagement with contractors, vendors, clients, and funding partners).
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
