Polytechnic Librarian at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic

Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is a tertiary education institution in Zaria Kaduna State, Nigeria. The polytechnic was established on 2nd February, 1989 by the Kaduna state government to provide training and development techniques in the Field of engineering, applied science, commerce and other spheres of learning. The polytechnic is one of the tertiary teaching institutions owned and managed by the Kaduna State government. The polytechnic was named after the then Nigeria's foreign minister Nuhu Bamalli.

In accordance with the provisions of the Polytechnics' law, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below which has been vacant since 25th February, 2023:

Office of the Polytechnic Librarian

• The Polytechnic librarian shall be responsible to the Rector for the provision of Library services in the Polytechnic and its constituent Departments and Campuses.

Qualifications / Experience
Candidate applying for the position of the Polytechnic Librarian must possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Master's Degree from a recognized institution in Library Science or Library and Information Science. Possession of Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience from any tertiary institution or a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in relevant discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience.
• Registered member of the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
• Provide evidence of scholarly publication in reputable journals, conference/seminar papers and books proceeding.
• Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment.
• Attain the rank of Deputy/Chief Librarian.
• Demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in library policy formulation, good relation and managerial attributes.
• Be proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Have evidence of community service.
• Enjoy excellent physical and mental health (with evidence from a Government hospital).
• Not more than fifty-five (55) years of age.

Term of Appointment and Conditions of Service

• The appointment for the post of Polytechnic Librarian will be for an initial period of four (4) years renewable for a second and final term of another four (4) years.
• Salary of the Polytechnic librarian is CONTÍSS 15 and
• Other fringe benefits as provided by the scheme of service.
